Dragons Rage in Dewsbury

Last night was Dewsbury Spirit 2010 and dragons were unleashed on the town centre.

Three dragons were taken on by a lone dragon slayer.

The crowds gathered as the dragon roamed the streets.

Luckily the dragons seemed uninterested in the surrounding crowd of people.

The dragons seemed to turn on each other at one point.

They started to charge down at the photographers trying to get “the” shot.

One dragon was momentarily blinded by the flash from the press photographers.

A dragon started to breath smoke and fire on the crowd.

One brave man seems to be escorting one of the dragons as it turns a corner.

Up close the dragins are 3 times to height of me.

The dragon slay gallops into the fray.

One last shot before the dragon slayed the slayer.

This was all of course a superb display put on by Kirklees Council in Dewsbury town centre.  My two eldest girls thoroughly enjoyed running around the town chasing the parade of giant mechanical dragons powered by pedalling men.  Well done again for another spectacular Dewsbury Spirit!
